BioPassport introduced blockchain technology for the challenge of effective and secure data management. In the first half of 2019, there were more than 25 million cases of leakage of medical records. All of the leaked information was stored in a centralized privacy database. This figure exceeded the number of personal information leaks that occurred in 2018. As the number and scale of personal health data leaks increase, the need to store health data containing sensitive personal information on a more secure system has emerged. One of the most likely candidates for such a system is DID technology. DID uses a system of digital authentication and digital keys to ensure and allow only those who own the information can access private information.
